The End and Thank You

I’ve decided this is the end of my blog.

When I started this in the summer of 2008, I was setting out on a journey to study abroad in Oxford, England. My Gram requested that I keep her up to date on my adventures so I began to write. That was absolutely the best semester of my entire education, I’m thankful I documented a bit of it. It felt appropriate to continue writing here as I finished up my undergrad work, moved to Baltimore, worked in Washington D.C., fell in love and got married, moved to San Antonio, started married life with James in Boston, attended grad school, and drove back across the country with
everything we owned.

But now we’re home.

Instead of seeing my Gram once a year, I see her anytime I want to pop up for a visit.
Where my day to day before always felt exciting and new, my everyday life here feels normal. I take the train to work in the morning, I sit at a desk and work on projects I love, I take the train home, James and I cook dinner, we spend time together for a few hours, and then go to bed. I love that this is our normal, but I also feel like there isn’t much
to write about.

Thanks for reading all these years. I know there are more of you than I realize and I’m thankful for you. Many times I kept writing because I knew you would be excited to read (looking at you, Jane!). Maybe I’ll do something like this again if life sends us on another adventure—until then, I have half-hearted plans to print this and put it on my bookshelf.

Thanks to my Gram, without her this blog would not have existed.

Love,

Ash
